**SAVE THE DATE** as we will be presenting a brand new talk on women of Garnethill, West End of Glasgow as part of Doors Open Day in collaboration with the wonderful Glasgow Guild. More information about the festival can be found here.
The talk is on the 12th of September 7.30pm and will discuss several colourful characters of the area including artists and designers for the Glasgow School of Art (Grace Melvin, Dorothy Carleton Smyth, Jessie M King, Ann Macbeth…..the list goes on), students from Glasgow University and business owners who played a fundamental role in shaping the area. We will also include a short section on the Glasgow Society of Lady Artists who were based at 5 Blythswood Square and if we have time, talk about some women who were influential in the West End as a whole.
Booking is not required but arrive early to ensure a seat.
